About Us
With more than 35 years as an Acupuncturist behind her, Paddy has an enormous wealth of experience to call on. After gaining her initial acupuncture qualification from the Acupuncture College of Australia, Paddy went on and trained as a Childbirth Educator. Her practice in Sydney focussed primarily on the treatment of women though pregnancy and childbirth.
After completing a Masters degree at the University of Technology, Sydney, Paddy returned to her hometown of Nelson in New Zealand. She set up Acupuncture Richmond in 2008. Whilst continuing to work with women through pregnancy and childbirth is still a large part of Paddy’s practice, running such a specialised clinic is not so feasible in a small centre like Richmond. Paddy now runs a much more general practice and sees everyone from young children through to the very elderly.
Having trained in both acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine, Paddy uses a combination of techniques depending on the condition and the person being treated. Cupping and moxibustion as well as dietary and/or lifestyle advice may also be included in each treatment.
In 2018 Paddy returned to studying and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology.
Paddy is registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand(#1062) in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

I am excited to have recently graduated as an Acupuncturist, having been fortunate enough to spend the majority of my practical training under Paddy’s supervision in her clinic. I feel delighted to be starting my acupuncture career at Acupuncture Richmond.
Having qualified as a Midwife in the UK in 2006, I have felt privileged to provide midwifery care in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. My travels and experiences led me to settle down in New Zealand with my husband and two children. I continue to work part time as a Midwife in the Nelson/Tasman region.
My interest in acupuncture stemmed from seeing how effective treatment could be for women in their pregnancies, labours/birth experiences and postnatally, and experiencing those benefits first hand. I thoroughly enjoyed learning Midwifery Acupuncture and this inspired me to broaden my knowledge through completing the Bachelor of Science (Acupuncture) with the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Acupuncture treatment has the potential to create a positive impact on general functioning in daily life. It can benefit people of all ages and situations. Whether presenting with a physical or mechanical problem, mental health or emotional issue, I look forward to treating you through acupuncture.
I am registered with the Chinese Medicine Council and hold an active annual practising certificate. I am also an ACC provider and a member of Acupuncture New Zealand.
